Formation

“Who will not burn with holy desire?”

St. Vincent Pallotti’s Appeal to the People of Rome, & All the World

“To everyone who has zeal for the glory of God and has love and compassion for the spiritual salvation of his neighbor: we have a great need of faith.

Here, then, is the idea and purpose of the Catholic Apostolate for the increase, propagation, and defense of Catholic faith under the protection of the great Mother of God, Mary, Queen of the Apostles. This association proposes to unite the evangelical action, the prayers and the offerings, not only of the members but also of all those who would cooperate with it, even once, for the reawakening of faith and piety.

Therefore, the association is formed in such a way that all Catholics may belong to it. They can either be clerics of laypersons, men or women, learned or illiterate, wealthy or indigent, and persons of whatever vocation, state, or fortune. Hence, those who cannot exercise the sacred ministry personally and directly can still offer their support with their personal works, trade, profession, job, voluntary offerings, and by utilizing their influence. Of course, all can cooperate with the efficacious means of prayer. Through this association, no one is excluded from cooperating in the Catholic Apostolate or from participating in its undertakings.”

Patroness, Mary Queen of Apostles

“The Catholic Apostolate, in honor of and under the protection of the Queen of the Apostles, the Most Holy Mary, aims to promote the multiplication of the spiritual and temporal means for the propagation of the faith everywhere in the world.

She is Queen of the Apostles because she cooperated to the degree allowed her in her condition and circumstances in the propagation of holy faith even beyond the work of the apostles. Therefore, every Catholic layman and laywoman should be happy because, although he and she is not a priest, they can hope to acquire the merit of the Apostolate of Jesus Christ and be a among the apostles in the Kingdom.”

Formation Centers - SAC

“It’s called "‘of the Catholic Apostolate’ not because it presumes to have in itself the Catholic Apostolate, but rather because it venerates, respects, and loves it.
It desires that all cooperate in the apostolate. This is in line with the call of other pious institutions.”

The Society of the Catholic Apostolate runs diverse Centers of Formation, in the service of the Universal Church and Pallottine World.

Ratio Institutionis - SAC

St. John Paul II, in his 1996 Apostolic Exhortation Vita Consecrata, reiterated the Synod Fathers; who “earnestly asked all institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life to draw up as soon as possible a ratio institutionis, that is a formation program inspired by their particular charism, presenting clearly and in all its stages the course to be followed in order to assimilate fully the spirituality of the respective Institute.” In 1998, the Society of the Catholic Apostolate instituted the General Secretariat for Formation, who were entrusted with the task of preparing a ration institutionis.
